Discover The Best AI Music Generators in 2024
Have you heard AI music lately? It’s pretty insane. In fact, most people can’t tell the difference between AI-generated tracks and songs created by human artists.
But how do you create good AI music? There are dozens of tools out there so it’s important to find the best one. I’ve tested them all and want to share my results with you.
First off, you need to understand that there are two audiences for AI music generation: professional and pleasure.
Professional: Individuals whose work involves creating music, such as composers and producers. They use AI tools to enhance their workflow and efficiently produce high-quality tracks.
Pleasure: Hobbyists who create music for enjoyment in their free time. They use AI tools to explore creativity and produce music without extensive training.
I am not a professional, So I’m not going to recommend Soundful, Loudly, or Soundraw. These tools are co-pilots for the production studio, rather than user-friendly options for people like myself.
I’m going to focus on the two best tools for hobbyists: Suno and Udio.
1) Suno AI
Suno AI is a powerful music creation tool that uses artificial intelligence to generate realistic songs with both vocals and instruments (or just instrumental tracks). Launched in late 2023, Suno became widely accessible and popular through its online web app. Users create songs by providing text prompts, and Suno ensures its AI is protected against plagiarism and copyright issues. Suno allows users to create up to 2-minute songs with a free account, with options to subscribe for more features. A mobile app was recently launched in July 2024.

2) Udio AI
Udio AI is a tool that uses artificial intelligence to create music from simple text prompts, generating both vocals and instruments to make songs sound realistic and engaging. Launched in April 2024, Udio allows users to specify the genre, lyrics, and style of other artists. The free version allows up to 600 songs per month, while paid subscriptions unlock advanced features. Despite some criticism, Udio is praised for capturing emotion in synthetic vocals and its rich, full sound, making it perfect for anyone from beginners to professional musicians looking to create unique music effortlessly.
So, what’s my verdict?
Personally, I have a slight preference for Suno due to its usability, control, and high-quality outputs. But I believe both Suno and Udio AI offer an exceptional and fun experience. Each platform has unique strengths that cater to different needs and preferences. I encourage you to explore both and see which one resonates with you.
Happy music making!
